My husband and I both had a day off together, so we decided to treat our little girl to a visit to Sea Life Park in Waimanalo. She adores animals, especially marine life, so we knew it would be a thrilling experience for her. It is located in Waimanalo. You can buy tickets online or when you get there. We bought our tickets on the same day and she got in for free. Parking was easy to find, and upon arrival, we received a schedule detailing the day's shows. Although we only stayed for a couple of hours and didn't catch all the shows, each one was around 15 minutes long. Despite our brief visit, we had a fantastic time exploring and admiring the incredible sea life animals.

Check their website for more information: Hawaii Sea Life Park

Sea Life Animals

Once we got our tickets, we went ahead to the Shark Cave. This expansive aquarium houses Hawaiian sharks, and the experience of seeing them up close feels almost surreal. Though our little girl was a bit scared, she had the chance to observe these magnificent creatures.

Following the Shark Cave, you'll come across the Honu Green Sea Turtles. They are incredibly large, and it's likely my first time seeing them as well.

Next, you'll find Tide Pools or Discovery Reef where you can feed the fishes, and a little further along is the Hale Manu Bird Aviary. Visitors can go inside during open hours and spend time with the birds. Unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to enter as it was packed at that time. Luckily, we managed to catch the Penguin Show/Feathered Friends Talk Story.

Following the Penguin show, there's the Seabird Sanctuary Talk Story. However, we had to leave midway through the presentation because my little girl was excited to visit the Dolphin Lagoon, situated on the opposite side. Those dolphins are truly adorable! While waiting for the dolphin show, we took the chance to savor the breathtaking view and had a moment to rest.

And, a friendly reminder, don't forget to reapply sunscreen for continued protection!

This show is a major attraction; most people gather in the bleachers to watch the Aloha Nai’a Presentation at the Dolphin Lagoon. While enjoying the show, you can bring your own food or purchase some there. There's not much more to say, but the show was truly spectacular— we had an amazing time! It was incredibly enjoyable watching the dolphins display their talents and interact with their trainers.

Following the show, we had the opportunity to observe the Sea Lions leisurely lounging before making our way to the last destination—the Hawaiian Monk Seal Talk Story at the Monk Seal Habitat. This segment proved to be particularly intriguing as it delved into the distinctions between seals and lions. Even I, at times, find myself confused by their resemblance. The educational aspect added to the experience!

Our visit was truly fantastic! If you're ever in Oahu, be sure to discover the diverse range of family activities at Sea Life Park. And before you depart, don't forget to swing by their souvenir gift shop for some keepsakes! :)
