The Best Themed Park!
A visit to Japan isn’t complete without Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea. We spent our final days at DisneySea, especially after the opening of Fantasy Springs, the park’s newest and most magical area. In this post, I’ll share our experience and tips for visiting this unique theme park.
Getting to Tokyo DisneySea is easy:
By Train: Take the JR Keiyo or Musashino Line from Tokyo Station to Maihama Station, then hop on the Disney Resort Line monorail.
By Bus: Direct buses run from Narita Airport and major hotels, perfect for avoiding train transfers.
By Taxi/Car: A taxi or private car is convenient, especially with kids or luggage, but expect higher fares and longer travel times.
TIP: If you're visiting for multiple days, get a multi-day park pass or vacation package—DisneySea is huge, and there’s so much to explore!

Our Tokyo DisneySea & Fantasy Springs Experience
Staying at Hilton Tokyo Bay for two nights gave us a relaxed morning before heading to DisneySea. We took the hotel shuttle and arrived at 10 AM. I thought we were late, but the line was still long! It was crowded, and we waited about 20 minutes to enter.
As soon as we entered the park, I checked the Disney app for any DPA or Standby Passes. Luckily, I got a DPA for the Rapunzel's Lantern Festival! I’m not an expert on Disney hacks, so I felt really lucky. Since we had a ride booked for Fantasy Springs at 4 PM, we spent the time exploring and shopping around the park.
Classic DisneySea Attractions
We were lucky to catch the Mickey & Friends Harbor Greeting right on time! This short 5–10 minute show was brimming with happiness. Mickey and his friends waved and interacted with the crowd from boats, sharing love and cheer across the Mediterranean Harbor. The lively music and stunning view made it an unforgettable experience—it’s a must-see for Disney fans of all ages!
Our daughter is a huge fan of mermaids and princesses, so our first stop was Mermaid Lagoon, a kid-friendly area filled with ocean-themed rides. We hopped in line for Jumpin' Jellyfish and Blowfish Balloon Race —both short but super fun rides!
We also checked out Ariel’s Playground, a maze of caves, rope bridges, and cool underwater-themed effects. While some areas are a bit dim, it’s packed with fun details.
Another highlight was the Sleepy Whale Shoppe, a giant whale-shaped store—perfect for browsing and finding unique, exclusive Disney merchandise. No Standby Pass is required, so you can take your time exploring!
Since it was our first time, we found Mermaid Lagoon a bit tricky to navigate, especially with its dark and crowded layout. It can be stressful for parents trying to keep an eye on little ones, so be sure to keep them close!
We also took some time to explore Arabian Coast before hopping on the DisneySea Transit Streamer Line for a relaxing boat ride. It was a fun daytime adventure and could be quite romantic at night. The 13-minute ride offered stunning views! Strollers are allowed, and families with kids get priority seating at the front, making the experience smooth and enjoyable.
We also watched Believe! Sea of Dreams, and it was absolutely incredible over the Mediterranean Harbor. This nighttime show features Disney characters who inspire dreamers to keep believing and make their wishes come true. The dazzling fireworks and stunning projections -it’s truly a must-see experience!
Exploring Fantasy Springs
Fantasy Springs is the newest and absolute BEST addition to DisneySea! We were thrilled to see it now open to all guests, and exploring this magical world felt like stepping straight into a Disney fairytale. Inspired by films like Frozen, Tangled, and Peter Pan, this stunning area is filled with breathtaking, immersive environments—from the majestic Frozen castle to the whimsical Tangled garden.
We were lucky to secure a Disney Premier Access (DPA) for Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival, and it was absolutely magical—definitely our favorite ride so far and my daughter loved it so much she wanted to ride again! Fantasy Springs is truly the highlight of the park, with breathtaking visuals, incredible details, and family-friendly rides that make the experience unforgettable.
Dining Experience
We bought this popcorn bucket and used mobile ordering for lunch and snacks at The Snuggly Duckling—such a convenient feature! With mobile ordering, guests can browse select restaurant menus and place orders anytime in the park, skipping the long lines. You can access this feature through the Tokyo Disney Resort App once you're inside.
It was a fantastic way to relax and recharge before heading off on more adventures! Highly recommend giving it a try.
Shopping & Souvenirs
We actually came here just to shop—and DisneySea did not disappoint! The park is filled with so many amazing stores, and we couldn’t resist picking up Duffy & Friends merchandise, plushies, and the most adorable limited-edition cookie boxes. There were so many cute finds—we wanted to take everything home!
Travel Tips for Visiting Tokyo DisneySea
Use the Disney Resort App
Download the app to track wait times, check show schedules, and make mobile orders. It’s an essential for planning your day and ensuring you don’t miss any must-see attractions.Wear Sunscreen & Stay Hydrated
Even in cooler months, the sun can be strong! Don’t forget to apply sunscreen and drink plenty of water to stay refreshed throughout the day.Bring a Portable Charger
With all the photos, videos, and app usage, your phone battery might drain quickly. A portable charger will keep your devices powered up so you don’t miss capturing the magic!Avoid Shopping After Nighttime Shows
The shops get extremely crowded right after the shows—we learned this the hard way! Try shopping earlier in the day to avoid the rush.Slow Down & Enjoy the Experience
It’s easy to rush from one attraction to the next, but take your time. Savor the details, soak in the atmosphere, and embrace the magic—it’s okay if you don’t do everything!
We had an amazing day at Tokyo DisneySea—a truly unique park! With Fantasy Springs now open, the experience is even more magical. If you want to fully enjoy all the rides in Fantasy Springs, I highly recommend booking a vacation package. Otherwise, securing a Disney Premier Access (DPA) or Standby Pass can take a while—or even the whole day.
No matter your age or interests, there’s something for everyone here! Plus, getting to and from the park is incredibly smooth, thanks to well-organized transportation and Disney’s top-notch service.
